The feel-good factor at Montrose has continued with news of a double development at the club.
John Crawford, who has spent the last nine months as interim chairman, has now taken on the role on a permanent basis while it has also been announced that the Gable Endies have a new shirt sponsor, Carnegie Fuels Ltd.
It is a further boost for the club after Stewart Petrie’s side secured a place in the promotion play-offs at the weekend after drawing at home with Clyde.
Crawford said: “I am delighted to have been offered this role long term and I would like to very much thank the Board of Directors for their support over the last few months.
“We have worked extremely hard to bring changes to the club and since we appointed our new management team there has been a freshness around the place with real optimism and positivity.
“Longer term, I can assure our fans that the board will continue to do everything possible to keep the club heading in the right direction.”
Commenting on the new two-year shirt sponsorship, Crawford added: “I am delighted to be announcing this deal and would like to thank Kevin Carnegie and his family for all their support.
“Small clubs like ours rely so heavily on the generosity of local businesses and this is just another piece of good news at a very exciting time for the club.”
Meanwhile, Montrose have also confirmed that while season tickets are not valid for their Play-Off Semi-Final First Leg against Peterhead on Wednesday night at 7:45pm, admission prices have been reduced to £10 for adults, OAP/Under-16 £5 and Family tickets £12.
