Raith Rovers manager Ian Murray has hailed a “positive move” for the club as he confirmed fresh investment is in the pipeline.
Club shareholders were informed at the AGM held earlier this week that discussions remain ongoing with an unnamed group.
With the season winding down, clubs up and down the country are putting in motion plans to recruit new players and agree to new contracts with current squad members.
The Rovers boss said that the new investment “changes things for us”.
He told Raith TV: “Everybody knows now about the investment coming in.
“It’s a positive move for the football club, it’s very exciting times.
“With the brief conversations I’ve had with the guys, they’re very supportive of the current players.
Pulling together
“They’re also looking at how we can improve. If we can all do it together, fantastic.
“That’s the aim of the game: one big pull together and get us into a stable place.
“We’ve had a very busy week in terms of our own players and looking around for others, starting to make inroads into them as well.
“As always, these things do take time. It’s never a quick fix, unfortunately.
“I think we’ll be in a better position come the start of preseason than we were last season. It took a bit of time to sort everything out.
“I’m looking forward to that being a lot more calm.
“With that comes better performances going into the League Cup.”
Looking ahead to more pressing matters, Rovers take on a relegation-threatened Arbroath at Stark’s Park this weekend.
Although the top four looks out of reach, Murray is hoping the unpredictable nature of football works in his favour.
‘You never know’
“Arbroath tomorrow will be very, very difficult,” he said.
“Then we travel to Morton and Ayr who are fighting for their lives to get into the play-off as well – and notoriously difficult venues.
“We finish off with potentially a team [Partick Thistle] that might be going for the league.
“So it’s four fantastic games to be involved in. The boys are looking forward to them.
“If we can win the next four games, you never know.”
Murray said the squad is “a bit more healthy” going into this weekend after a severe shortage of players for the recent defeat to Dundee.
He added: “We’re not at full strength, that’s for sure. We’ve still got a few boys out, but a few will come back.
“We’re in better shape in terms of picking a side and players available in their positions.
“That’s a huge positive for us.”
