Celtic took the first step towards the Champions League with a comfortable 2-0 win over part-time Linfield at Windsor Park.

However the Belfast game sparked controversy when striker Leigh Griffiths received a booking after being repeatedly struck with objects from the stands.

Among the missiles thrown at him was a bottle of Buckfast.

The Scotland star was struck with objects as he attempted to take a corner, but was booked by Alejandro Hernandez presumably for time wasting.

The Parkhead club had refused their ticket allocation for the first leg of the second qualifying round clash in Belfast due to safety fears.
