Darren Young will put his boots back on for East Fife

East Fife manager Darren Young will have to don his boots for the first time at the start of a game for over 18 months when Dunfermline Athletic pitch up at Bayview.
The 38-year-old will be involved against one of his former clubs as his squad is six players light due to injuries and suspension.
Chris Kane picked up a calf problem in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Peterhead and he joins Jonathan Page, Kyle Wilkie, Mark Lamont and Kevin Smith on the side-lines, with Kieran Millar out through suspension.
Young said: “It is not the ideal situation but we are so short of bodies through injury that I will be involved.
“I hope that it will be more successful than the last time I played against Dunfermline when I came on as substitute for Albion Rovers got booked within two minutes and was sent off three minutes after that! We also lost 3-0.”
Saturday’s defeat at Balmoor is frustrating Young who added: “We could have got something from the game but we were a bit short going forward and we are working on changing that.
“Dunfermline got off to a flying start against Elgin and they will take confidence from that. This is a derby so we need our defence to do a good job.”
