East Fife may be low on numbers however they are high on spirit as they look to grab their first goal and first win in the Betfred Cup.
The Bayview side have had a tough run of fixtures so far, with games at Peterhead and Hearts and a home Fife derby with Dunfermline.
Only one point has been picked up but new boss Darren Young is pleased with the progress his men are making in his first run of games in charge.
Elgin City are their next opponents at Bayview tonight, with Young saying: “We lost at the weekend to a good Hearts side but there was a lot to be pleased about.
“They started at a very fast pace and we had to weather a storm but we did that. Our defence is brand new but they have been terrific and that allowed us to attack Hearts.
“We had a couple of half-chances before the break and then for the first 20 minutes of the second half we were terrific. We had some right good openings and on another day Paul Willis could have grabbed a couple of goals.
“However we never made the breakthrough and then someone lost the player they were meant to be marking at a corner and we went behind. We eventually lost 3-0 but there was lots to be positive about.”
Young added: “We have still to score and still to win but we are by no means despondent.
“This game is probably different from the other three in that we are the favourites. If we can handle that and continue to play like we have been then we can beat Elgin.”
Ben Gordon will miss out after being dismissed at Tynecastle and he joins the injured Thomas Cordery, Chris Kane, Mark Lamont, Jonathan Page, Kyle Wilkie, Ross Mutch and Kevin Smith on the sidelines.
