Raith Rovers have announced the shock departure of chief executive Eric Drysdale after almost two decades with the Kirkcaldy club.
The club released a statement confirming the board has “reluctantly” decided that the post of chief executive has been effectively made redundant following Rovers’ relegation from the Championship, and after board members carefully considered requirements for the coming season.
The statement went on to thank Drysdale for his “many years of dedicated service to the club in various roles” and wished him luck for the future.
Drysdale commented: “I would just like to wish Barry Smith, his coaches and of course the team all the best for the forthcoming season, and I would particularly like to thank all the staff behind the scenes for their fantastic hard work and commitment to the club.
