Arbroath manager Dick Campbell is looking for his side to build on their opening day League One success over Queen’s Park by beating Airdrie today.
Campbell certainly believes he has the strength in depth to make it six points from six at the Excelsior Stadium.
He said: “We made a good start by getting our first home win.
“Queen’s Park are a good side who enjoyed a good season in League One last season so it was an encouraging result.
“The first goal was important as it will be in a lot of games this season and once we scored that we always looked the likelier side to win.
“It would now be terrific to grab our first away win at the first time of asking as well.
“Airdrie have had an unsettled summer with a change of management and issues off the park, however they will be looking to bounce back after losing to Forfar last weekend.
“As you would expect from an Airdrie side they showed a lot of spirit in that game and they will face their problems with the same spirit.
“We need to be ready for that in this game.”
The Lichties are in good shape for their trip to Lanarkshire, with Campbell saying: “When you consider that Ryan McCord, Mark Whatley and Gavin Swankie were not starting it shows that we have a good level of strength in depth.
“As I always stress the game will be decided by how the Arbroath players go about their jobs. If they go about things correctly then they will do well and if they don’t then we have good options to change.
“We played so well last weekend that I am not considering many changes if any at all. It is disappointing for players not to be involved especially at the start of the season however things will happen and they need to be ready when called on.”
