Leigh Griffiths is among six Celtic players picked by Scotland boss Gordon Strachan for the World Cup qualifiers against Lithuania and Malta.
The former Dundee striker, whose spectacular freekick double against England lifted the roof off Hampden in June, is joined by Parkhead teammates Craig Gordon, Kieran Tierney, Stuart Armstrong, James Forrest and captain Scott Brown in the squad.
It could easily have been seven Hoops but Strachan chose not to select in-form Callum McGregor for the Group F matches in Vilnius on Friday, September 1 and back in Glasgow on Monday the 4th.
The national coach defended that decision, saying: “I picked the regular bunch because you can trust them.
“There were a lot that were close but if you look at that midfield there are a lot of players in there who have done well for us and you can rely on.”
