First Fife derby for Darren Young as East Fife boss
ByReporter
Even though it is his first game against Raith Rovers as East Fife manager, Darren Young knows full well that local pride is at stake.
Young said: “It is my first Fife Derby as a manager and I am looking forward to it. I played in a few when I was a player at Dunfermline and there was always an extra level of excitement to them.
“That has been the same feeling about the club this week.
“Both sets of fans should be excited as their teams have started the season well and it should be a cracking game between two confident teams.”
Young’s side sit just one point behind the Stark’s Park men and are looking forward to the opportunity of jumping into second place.
He added: “We are going into it on the back of a good 3-2 win at Arbroath. We created a lot of chances and could have scored more than the three times.
“That win has ensured that our players are now up for the challenge of Raith Rovers.”
Jonathan Page and Chris Kane, who played in a bounce game in midweek after being out injured, could be on the bench. Kevin Smith is still sidelined.
