Raith’s Liam Buchanan insists that while everyone at the club was disappointed with Saturday’s defeat against Albion Rovers, it has still been a great start to the season for the Kirkcaldy side.
Rovers suffered their first setback in 12 games at Cliftonhill at the weekend with the striker admitting it was simply a bad day at the office.
However, when looking at the bigger picture, Raith still sit top of League 1 and Buchanan believes it has been a good opening quarter as Barry Smith’s side look to bounce straight back up to the Championship.
The 32-year-old said: “Cliftonhill is always a difficult place to go to and on the day we didn’t play as well as we have done.
“But in the grand scheme of things, it was our first defeat in 12.
“It has been a good start to the season and we are top of the league by three points.
“We will still finish the quarter top regardless of the result in the next game because of our goal difference.
“So there is plenty to be positive about despite Saturday’s result.
“It was just a bad day and we look forward to the next game.”
