Blow for Cowdenbeath as goalkeeper Joe McGovern suffers serious knee injury

Cowdenbeath have been hit by another blow in the wake of their Scottish Cup defeat by East Kilbride as goalkeeper Joe McGovern has been ruled out of the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in training.
The 23-year-old younger brother of Northern Ireland international Michael had established himself as the first choice at Central Park after a disappointing spell at Forfar following his release from Dundee United last summer.
McGovern was injured during the international break and tests have now confirmed a cruciate ligament problem.
Manager Billy Brown said: “It is really disappointing news for us and for Joe.
“He worked really hard to be our number one goalkeeper and was doing well in the role.
“He had put the disappointment of being let go by United behind him and was working his way back in football.
“It looks like he will be out for the rest of the season but hopefully he will bounce back after that.”
