Dunfermline winger Fraser Aird put in a man-of-the-match performance helping his side to a comfortable victory at East End Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Canadian international was in fine form scoring a wonder goal and being involved in the set up of the other two.
He said: “I’ve been waiting on my chance and I got that chance today.
“The last three games our performances have maybe dropped a little as compared to the start of the season so the manager has changed it up a bit.
“I got my chance today and to be honest I thought I was different class, there’s no other way to put it.
“Obviously I took my goal well. I set up Higgy’s (Kallum Higginbotham) goal and made a good run for the first goal.
“Livingston came into the game flying – they were one point ahead of us and their manager has them playing well, so we knew it was a massive game for us.
“We had three bad results in a row while they are flying beating Dundee United last week but coming back home we proved how good we are today.”
The summer arrival helped his team get off to a dream start although the goal was more down to a blunder at the back by Livingston than any individual magic.
Aird put pressure on his opposing man, causing a ball to be played back towards the Livi goal.
It looked like there was no danger, but the visitors’ Jackson Longridge and Neil Alexander were not on the same wavelength as Longridge waited on Alexander to come out and claim the ball.
The goalie’s hesitation meant all he could do was smack the ball off Higginbotham and watch as it rolled into the empty net.
If the first goal was a stroke of luck then the second was sheer brilliance.
Aird picked the ball up on the left just inside the Livingston half and went on a jinking run with a drop of the shoulder to take him past his man before cutting inside and curling a sublime effort into the top-right corner from all of 25 yards on the half hour-mark.
Aird was to be main man again as his side went three up eight minutes later. More good work down the left saw the Canadian play a low pass into Higginbotham who made no mistake finding the net from just outside the box.
Danny Mullin netted a consolation goal late on for David Hopkin’s men.
