It was a case of what might have been once again for Brechin manager Darren Dods, as his men had plenty of pressure and chances against Queen of the South only to lose to a solitary goal.
Central defender Jason Kerr grabbed the Queens goal in 61 minutes, then was sent off, along with Brechin’s Ally Love, five minutes into added time.
Dods said: “We definitely deserved something.
“In the last 10 minutes they were camped in their own box and we had so much pressure.
“We had a string of corners but nothing would drop into the net for us. Isaac Layne had the best chance of the first half when he was one-on-one with the keeper, then at 1-0 their keeper made a great save. We have to take chances like that when they present themselves.
“I didn’t see what happened at the red cards as it was right on the other side of the pitch.
“I only know that their guy booted our dressing room door and that was disrespect to Brechin.
“We are much more secure defensively, but we just need that little break.”
