Celtic put up a great fight against the Bundesliga side, who most recently won the Champions League in the 2012-13 season.
In an interview with German website Spox, Bayern winger Arjen Robben said the atmosphere at Celtic Park was second only to that of the Allianz Arena.
And the Dutchman was also quoted in Abendzeitung saying: “It’s an atmosphere you do not experience that often, you have to enjoy it a bit, it was outstanding, but more importantly, we won today.
“It was not our best game, but it was the third game in six days, we were effective, we just have to be happy with the success.”
Bayern defender Mats Hummels also hailed the “outstanding atmosphere” in Glasgow.
And the German club’s chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge described the night as “an experience of pure culture”.
