New Cowdenbeath boss Gary Bollan gets down to business today when he takes the Blue Brazil for the first time.
Annan are visiting Central Park, with Bollan looking to get his reign off to a flying start by securing a morale-lifting win and moving off the foot of the League Two table.
The former Livingston, Airdrie and Forfar boss said: “I am pleased with what I have seen in training both in terms of effort and quality.
“The squad is however low on depth and experience and I will try to change that quickly. I am hoping to add a couple of bodies before we take the field against Annan but nothing is definite as yet.
“The other thing missing from the squad is confidence and that is not something you can just switch on and off. It would be great to go out and get a goal in front or keep a clean sheet as small steps like that would start the confidence coming back.
“Points also bring confidence and any kind of win in this game would do. I would love to say that we will go out and play lovely attacking football but to be honest I would settle for a scrappy 1-0 win to get things up and running.”
Bollan added: “I am excited to get going at the club and will look to put right the issues we have identified. I know Annan well from last season when they played against Forfar.
“They are a side who do not give a lot away but hopefully we can get a win and get things up and running.”
Joe McGovern, Fraser Mullen and David Syme miss out.
