Darren Dods is hoping it will be third time lucky for a Scottish Cup run with Brechin City.
The Glebe Park boss hasn’t yet got over the third round hurdle with his Glebe Park side and is determined to put that right against Buckie Thistle this afternoon.
“This is the first time we’ve drawn a club below us,” he said.
“We’ve gone out to Ayr United and Airdrie in the last couple of years, who have either been in the league above or higher than us in our own division.
“We want to progress in the cup and get our first win, which would hopefully help us when we get back to league business.
“The boys would definitely get confidence from it.”
Dods knows better than to expect a comfortable afternoon against Buckie, though.
He said: “They score a lot of goals and got through to this round by winning 6-2.
“We’ll not underestimate them but we need to make sure we play to our strengths and get through to the next round.”
