It would be ironic if Brechin City got their first league win of the season against the side they’ve struggled against the most, manager Darren Dods admitted.
Alongside the two 4-0 defeats in the Championship to John Robertson’s men sits the 3-0 loss in the Betfred Cup.
“That’s three games against them and we’ve not really got close,” said Dods.
“That hasn’t been the case against the likes of Dundee United, St Mirren and Dunfermline.
“The last game up in Inverness was horrible weather in midweek and we were two down after 15 minutes. Hopefully this time we can get in front and that will make it a different contest.”
Dods added: “We had Dunfermline rattled last week and could have got something from the game.
“I’m hoping to bring in two or three in January which would freshen things up. We’ve spoken to people but it’s a case of waiting just now.
“And we haven’t been able to call upon Andy Jackson and Ryan McGeever very often this season. To have them starting games in the new year will be big for us as well.”
Paul McLean is a doubt this afternoon with a groin injury.
Meanwhile, Brechin’s postponed game at Falkirk has been rearranged for Tuesday February 6.
