Cowdenbeath manager Gary Bollan has seen progress on the pitch from the Blue Brazil since he took over in November and he now wants that progress to be seen in the form of a win over visitors Edinburgh City today.
Bollan’s side lost in injury time to Peterhead last weekend before holding leaders Montrose to a draw on Tuesday – a sign of real improvement.
The Central Park boss said: “It is only one point from two games however that does not tell a full enough picture.
“We were away from home against the top two sides in the country and we played well enough to get more than the one point.
“Travelling home from Peterhead after losing to an injury time goal was hard for everyone but the players knew that there were positives to take. They went in against Montrose determined to do well again and we came from a goal behind to get a point.
“We could have nicked it.”
Bollan added: “Our performances are much better than when I came in however that is not enough. What we have to do now is to turn better performances into more points. Our first opportunity to do that comes in this game against Edinburgh City.
“This game also has the added prize on offer of getting off the bottom of the table so this would be a terrific game to show that we know how to win.”
On-loan Livingston 16-year-old Craig Henderson has recovered from the slight knock he picked up at Montrose, however goalkeeper Joe McGovern and striker Josh Morris are still out.
Bollan added: “There have been no other new signings yet but I will be working on getting someone in right up until Saturday lunchtime.”
