Footage shows the moment a former Dundee United left back won over legions of Liverpool supporters at the weekend.
Andy Robertson started in Jurgen Klopp’s back four in Sunday’s Premier League clash against Manchester City at Anfield.
The former Tannadice star had fans on their feet after running “75 yards” as he pressed the City defence in the second half of the game, chasing the ball down as far as keeper Ederson.
A video of the moment has been posted to Liverpool FC TV.
The crowd went wild after he forced centre-back Nicolás Otamendi off of the ball, with his hard work almost leading to a goal from teammate Roberto Firmino.
Robertson drew praise from Liverpool supporters, with one fan going so far as to describe it as “one of the greatest moments in Liverpool’s history”.
The defender also had his name chanted from the Kop, claiming that the moment gave him “goosebumps”.
He told the Liverpool FC website: “Just after we scored the fourth, I’d won a couple of tackles and to hear them sing your name it’s always nice, especially (from) the Kop, the noise they make.
“It started getting going and it gives you goosebumps. I can’t thank them enough for the support they’ve shown me from day one.”
Liverpool beat Man City 4-3.
