Cowdenbeath manager Gary Bollan has praised the work put in to make Central Park playable for the visit of high-flying Montrose today.
And the Blue Brazil boss is determined that his rock bottom side reward the club with a win.
He said: “Some of our directors, along with ground staff, started clearing snow from the pitch on Thursday and that has made a big difference.
“We want to play Montrose as we already have a backlog of fixtures and do not want to add to that.
“We also have a fully fit squad and we can go into this game with some confidence as we gave Montrose a really uncomfortable game the last time we met. We matched them for the full 90 minutes and showed a lot of spirit to come back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw at their place.”
Despite a 12-point gap to ninth placed Edinburgh City, Bollan is determined that the Fifers approach the end of the season with optimism.
He said: “There is still plenty to play for in League Two for Cowdenbeath. It is not even a backlog of fixtures we are facing, it is a backlog of cup finals and we have to go out and start turning the capability that the players have into wins.
“We will probably need other teams to start slipping up but more importantly we need to start winning games. We still have to secure our first three points as a management team here so there are plenty of targets to go for.”
He added: “We need to build momentum to either get out of the position we find ourselves in or be a confident side with wins under our belt going into a fight to stay in the league.
“Hopefully that can start against Montrose.”
