Forfar have just come through the hardest three games you could get in League One.
But manager Jim Weir believes the next three are even more important.
Matches against top of the table sides Ayr United, Raith Rovers and Arbroath produced three points for the Station Park men.
But there can be no easing off with East Fife, Stranraer and Albion Rovers up next.
“I would say that the next three games could define our season,” said Weir. “That’s the way I see it.
“We have to focus on getting a win in the first one at home to East Fife.
“Since East Fife added a couple of players their results have picked up and they are one of the form teams in the division.
“But we’re doing alright.
“We got a good win against Raith and last Saturday against Ayr United we were on top in the second half but didn’t do enough with it.”
Weir, who believes nine or 10 points from their last six matches may be enough to keep Forfar up, has Andy Munro suspended but welcomes back Eddie Malone after his ban.
Michael Travis and Dale Hilson are doubts, while free agent Dean Brotherston trained with them again on Thursday with a view to securing a short-term deal.
