The stakes at Stark’s Park could not be higher for Raith tomorrow but boss Barry Smith insists these are the sort of occasions his players should relish and not fear.
Rovers will kick-off against Alloa one point ahead of season-long title rivals Ayr, knowing that a win over the Wasps would see them crowned champions.
Tensions will be high on what is sure to be a dramatic day with Smith looking for his experienced players to play their part in calming any nerves.
However, the manager hopes his whole squad can enjoy the game and grasp the chance to win the title and promotion.
Smith said: “We have guys who have been there before.
“Iain Davidson and Liam Buchanan have won leagues so it is important to use that experience.
“We have experience throughout the team with the likes of Scott Robertson who can calm the situation if need be and maybe help the younger ones.
“But it should be enjoyable – this is what you play football for to try to win things.
“We have that opportunity but the opportunity has arisen through hard work throughout the season to get ourselves into this position.
“So we have to try to enjoy that experience and hopefully enjoy winning.
“But I need to stress – it is not a foregone conclusion.
“We know we are going to have to work hard to win on Saturday.
“We just need to focus on beating Alloa.”
