Forfar boss Jim Weir has snapped up John Baird who will join the club in a player/assistant manager role.
The 32-year-old striker, who has been with Championship outfit Inverness this season and has played for a host of other sides including St Mirren, Montrose, Airdrie, Raith, Dundee and Partick Thistle, has put pen to paper on a pre-contract with the Angus club.
Baird worked under Weir when he was boss at Links Park 10 years ago and the two have kept in touch ever since.
The front man has played for a total of 14 clubs during his career, making over 400 appearances and netting 120 goals.
Baird’s arrival sees Barry Sellars, who has been Weir’s assistant since the autumn, staying at Forfar in a coaching role.
