St Johnstone and Dundee will be top seeds for the group stages of the Betfred Cup.
They will be joined by Hearts and Ross County to form the leading four in the North Section, while Dundee United and Dunfermline will be second seeds for Friday’s draw along with Inverness Caley Thistle and Falkirk.
The competition is regionalised into North and South at this stage, with four groups in each half and five teams in each group.
As was the case last season, it is possible that the Dark Blues and Tangerines will face each other.
Among the unseeded sides are Brechin City, Raith Rovers, Arbroath, East Fife, Forfar, Montrose and Cowdenbeath.
The draw will take place live on BT Sport 2 at 6.30 pm on Friday and the matches kick off on the weekend of July 14.
