Hartlepool United have paid a touching tribute to former Dunfermline player Neale Cooper.
Cooper, who passed away at the end of last month at the age of 54, is to have a stand at their Victoria Park renamed in his honour.
He was Pools’ manager between 2003 and 2005 and returned for a second stint in the dugout between in late 2011.
“This is a huge deal for the club on so many levels,” said Hartlepool chief executive Mark Maguire.
“The stand will be known as The Neale Cooper Stand sponsored by East Durham College and we hope Poolies (the club’s fans) will join us in thanking EDC for their flexibility as we honour the memory of one of the club’s greatest managers.”
As well as being an Aberdeen legend as part of their greatest-ever side, Cooper made 101 appearances for the Pars between 1991 and 96.
