Montrose have signed former St Johnstone midfielder Paddy Cregg on a one-year deal.
Manager Stewart Petrie said: “I am delighted Paddy has agreed to join us.
“He was in high demand with other offers on the table.
“He is exactly the kind of player we will need in League One, bringing calmness and control in the middle of the park as well as a wealth of experience working with the players both on and off the pitch.”
The 32-year-old Irishman came through the youth academies at Manchester United and Arsenal, making his senior debut for the Gunners in November 2004 in a 3–1 victory against Everton in the League Cup.
Cregg also represented the Republic of Ireland up to under-21 level.
In August last year he signed for Forfar, where he made seven appearances before being released in January.
