Cowdenbeath may have lost their opening League 2 game to Clyde but manager Gary Bollan saw enough in their performance to be looking forward to the visit of Annan this afternoon.
Bollan reckons the Blue Brazil can get their first points on the board if they play for the full 90 minutes and not just 45.
He said: “We were disappointing at Clyde in the first half but much more like ourselves in the second.
“We were a couple of goals down by then but we played well enough to get back into the game.
“However, we did not carry any luck in front of goal and we came across an inspired goalkeeper in Blair Currie.
“He made a number of good saves and two terrific ones that stopped us getting back into the game and potentially rescuing a point.
“Whilst the first half was disappointing we can take huge positives from the second and be on the front foot against Annan at our place.
“We have hopefully learned lessons from last weekend but there is no point in looking back anymore on the points that were dropped.
“We have to put all our focus onto winning three points in this game. If we play like we did for the second 45 minutes at Broadwood then we will give ourselves a chance.
“We were good in the second half and posed a real threat. I now want that for 90 minutes plus the addition of some goals.”
Jason Talbot will need to pass a fitness test before Bollan will consider him for selection after picking up a knock against the Bully Wee but Martin Scott is available after a ban.
