Forfar boss Jim Weir has received a double signing boost with Darren Whyte and Adam Eckersley pledging their immediate futures to the club.
The latter, who is currently on loan from Premiership side St Mirren, has put pen to paper on a pre-contract agreement with the Angus club for next season.
The 33-year-old left-back who started his career with Manchester United, has quickly established himself in Weir’s team and opened his scoring account for the club against Airdrie on Saturday.
Whyte, who is 21, first joined Forfar on loan from St Mirren last season before agreeing a 12-month deal at Station Park in May.
The impressive centre-half has now signed a one-year extension to his current contract.
Weir, who has steered the Loons up to third place in the League 1 table, is currently holding talks with other key members of his squad.
