Dunfermline have made their second raid of the day on neighbours Raith Rovers, signing highly-rated striker Kevin Nisbet on a two-year deal.
The 22-year-old netted 34 goals for the Kirkcaldy side last season but following the club’s failure to win promotion out of League 1, he triggered a clause in his contract allowing him to speak to other teams.
Three Championship sides were involved in talks with his representatives with the Pars now winning the race for the former Partick Thistle frontman’s signature.
Raith are due a development fee for the player but have been unable to agree on a figure with the Pars and the matter is now likely to go to a tribunal.
