Dunfermline have confirmed the appointment of Jason Dair as the club’s new first-team coach.

The 44-year-old stood down as Dundonald Bluebell manager earlier this week and is someone who is well known to Pars boss Stevie Crawford.

The pair won the Coca-Cola Cup with Raith Rovers in 1994 and also went on to play together at Millwall as well as Dunfermline.

Dair will now work alongside Crawford as well as his assistant at East End Park, Greg Shields.

Dair’s arrival follows hot on the heels of another player signing after Crawford snapped up experienced midfielder Paul Paton.

The 32-year-old former Northern Ireland international spent last season with Falkirk and has also played for Queen’s Park, Dundee United, St Johnstone and Plymouth Argyle.

Paton has signed a one-year deal with the Pars a day after Crawford added striker Kevin Nisbet and defender Euan Murray from Fife neighbours Raith Rovers.
