Montrose veteran Sean Dillon has agreed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at Links Park until at least the summer of 2021.
The popular Irishman joined the Gable Endies in June, 2017 and played an integral role as the Angus club went on to win the League 2 title and promotion in his first season.
Dillon, who combines playing with coaching the first team at Montrose, then helped the club adapt to life in League 1 and make it to the Championship promotion play-offs.
The 36-year-old central defender recently made his 150th appearance for the Angus outfit against East Fife.
His manager Stewart Petrie said: “I am delighted Sean has decided to extend his stay here.
“He has had a huge influence on the team’s success since he arrived and I know he has much more to give.”
Before joining Montrose, Dillon spent 10 successful seasons with Dundee United and was one of the Tangerines’ Scottish Cup-winning heroes in 2010.
