Dundee want to extend midfielder Fin Robertson’s contract as a reward for establishing himself as a first-team player.
The 17-year-old midfielder still has a couple of years to run on his current deal but the Dark Blues want to give him new and improved terms.
Manager James McPake has been delighted with his rising star, who has played 16 times in league and cup for the Dens men this season.
He has put offering Robertson a fresh deal near the top of his to-do list.
McPake said: “Watch this space.
“It is something we need to get done.
“He still has two years left on his current deal so there is loads of time.
“He is one who will be here for a while and we will get is sorted soon.”
Robertson has been one of the shining lights in an often gloomy campaign for Dundee and is worthy of his place in the side.
McPake added: “Fin is in the team because he deserves to play.
“That is why he has played the majority of our games this season – it’s because he has been excellent.
“He has made 16 appearances and most of them have been starts.
“For someone so young, I think he holds his own on the pitch and controls the game at times.
“There is a lot to him that’s to like.
“He gives us a balance. Fin will sit there and break things up.
“He is very consistent and has been great for us from day one.
“He is going to have a really good career.”
