Ross Callachan has completed his trip along the Tay, swapping St Johnstone for Dundee in a loan deal. The 26-year-old central midfielder has joined the Dark Blues on a contract until the end of the season. He comes straight into contention for Saturday night’s William Hill Scottish Cup fourth round tie against Motherwell at Dens. Callachan is looking forward to getting some game time after limited opportunities at McDiarmid Park. He said: “I’m just hoping to get back playing. “I’ve been surplus to requirements at St Johnstone so I’m just hoping to get back playing. “I want to get my career on the road again and get back into a starting 11 and kick on from then. “I’m looking forward to being involved again. “Being back in a changing room when I have a chance of playing is something I’m really looking forward to.” Callachan started his career with Raith Rovers before joining Hearts in 2017 then moving on to Perth.
