Former Dundee and Dundee United star Simon Murray is officially a free agent after leaving Bidvest Wits.
The 28-year-old returned to Scottish soil on Friday and the South African outfit confirmed over the weekend that his contract, which was due to expire in the summer, has been cancelled.
Murray enjoyed a largely successful 20-month stint with the ABSA Premiership side, albeit he has not featured since suffering a cruciate knee ligament damage last September.
He has now fully recovered from that injury and has made no secret of his desire to return to the SPFL.
Dundee, where he starred on loan in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign, are in the mix for his signature.
Murray tweeted: “What and amazing club with amazing people but we move on to something new. Would just like to thank everyone associated with Bidvest Wits and wish them the very best in the future. Looking forward to what’s next.”
The former Hibs man has also turned out for the likes of Montrose, Tayport, Dundee Violet and Arbroath.
