Hearts are understood to be the latest club to enter the race to sign Dundee front man Greg Stewart.
The former Cowdenbeath player is entering the final year of his deal at Dens and the club have offered him a contract extension.
However, Stewart, who has become one of the Dark Blues’ prize assets since joining the club from the Blue Brazil two summers ago, has attracted interest from elsewhere with Rangers being continuously linked with the striker this season.
Aberdeen are also believed to be preparing to move for the 26-year-old but Hearts have now emerged as the latest club to show interest with Jambos boss Robbie Neilson understood to be keen to lure Stewart to Tynecastle.
The Edinburgh side are currently short in the striking department with Juanma and Gavin Reilly their only two senior front men.
Dundee are desperate to hold on to Stewart who has scored 26 goals in his two seasons at the club but if he is not willing to sign an extended contract, then they could be tempted to cash in now rather than possibly lose him for nothing next summer if a serious bid came their way.
