Dundee’s Gary Harkins has been told he can leave Dens.
He is contracted to the club until next summer but they won’t stand in his way should he find a new deal elsewhere.
The 31-year old, who triggered a clause in his contract to extend his stay earlier this year, rejoined the club in 2014 for a third spell and was one of their top performers last season when he shone as captain following Kevin Thomson’s departure.
But the summer arrival of midfield pair James Vincent and Danny Williams from Inverness has led to Harkins falling down boss Paul Hartley’s pecking order ahead of the big kick-off.
The former Blackburn, St Mirren, and Kilmarnock play-maker is sure not to be short of admirers after playing some of his best football for the Dark Blues last term.
