Dundee’s Greg Stewart, who has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent weeks, was missing from the Dark Blues squad for their league opener in Dingwall against Ross County.
The Dens Park club are understood to have already turned down an offer for the front man from Birmingham City and another unnamed club.
Dundee boss Paul Hartley insisted that Stewart was missing from the squad in Dingwall due to an injury picked up on Thursday.
However, while he expects the player to be back training at the start of next week, he is also prepared for the possibility of further bids for the club’s prize asset.
The manager said: “He got injured late on Thursday. We thought he was going to be OK but didn’t train.
“We expect him to be back, Monday or Tuesday . . . hopefully.
“There are no bids. Do we expect them? Possibly. We’ll just have to wait and see. We have rejected a couple of bids. Will they come back in? I don’t know.”
