Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara is close to signing a pre-contract agreement with Rangers.
And that’s likely to see the Dark Blues push for the Finnish international’s switch to be brought forward to this transfer window.
The 23-year-old former Arsenal kid is out of contract in the summer and if his Ibrox move takes place then, Dundee would not be able to demand a fee.
And having been in an out of the team in recent weeks, boss Jim McIntyre would prefer cash now that he could spend on rebuilding his squad.
Kamara was a star man at Dens last season, but his form this term has been patchy.
And an attempt by the new gaffer to get more out of him in an attacking sense has been met with only limited success.
That has opened the door for a January departure and Dundee’s hopes of cashing in on him were boosted when Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock confirmed he had been watching the holding midfield man.
A pre-contract agreement with Rangers, however, would leave his current employers unhappy and the player in an awkward position.
