Kenny Miller leading the way for Dundee but Jim McIntyre says four-match unbeaten run is team effort

Kenny Miller might be grabbing all the headlines for Dundee at the moment but manager Jim McIntyre is keen to stress their four-match unbeaten run at Dens Park is a team effort.

The Dark Blues gaffer is delighted with the contribution of his veteran striker in recent weeks and insists he does lead by example.

He’s keen, though, to recognise the effort put in by those that have followed him.

Jim said: “Kenny is doing fantastically well and he’s leading by example.

“Every day in training he has that enthusiasm, whether it’s a warm-up or a ball-skills exercise he does everything the way it should be done.

“That’s why he’s still playing at his age and doing what he’s doing.”

Almost at the age of 39, Miller’s opener against Rangers at the weekend that earned the side a hard-fought draw after playing for 70 minutes with 10 men made it six goals in just four matches for the evergreen frontman.

And his impact is no surprise for his manager.

He added: “The goal itself was just a punt up the park but he reacted quicker because he’s really switched on upstairs.

“He put it away great and was unlucky not to score again straight after the red card when Allan McGregor makes a good save with his feet.

“I’m delighted with his contribution but it’s unfair to single just one player out because there was a lot of graft required and a wee bit of luck as well.”

The club have appealed the decision that saw Nathan Ralph sent off after 20 minutes against the Ibrox side.

The hearing is set for tomorrow at Hampden.
