Dundee have been dealt a blow with the news club captain Josh Meekings’ hip problem is likely to be season-ending and will see him go under the knife in a couple of weeks.
However, there was good news of attackers Benjamin Kallman and Roarie Deacon, who have been sidelined recently.
“Josh will go for surgery on the 12th of next month. It needs to happen because he’s been in limbo with it too long now. The injections he’s had haven’t made much of a difference.
“It’s a big blow to lose your captain. That’ll pretty much rule him out for the season.
“But Benji’s looking great, he’s had his tidy up. It’s just a small tear in the cartilage and the surgeon’s really pleased with it.
“Gerry Docherty (the physio) is saying he’s doing great and, hopefully, he’ll be back quicker than the three-week period that we spoke about, so it was good decision to just get it done.
“Roarie’s scan was great, it’s really good news. It’s not the original thigh injury and that whole tendon issue he had previously is totally healed.
“The injury is just a wee separate one that won’t be too long, so it’s great news on that one as well.”
