Dundee linked with move for ex-Ross County and Dundee United defender

Another former Ross County player could be on Jim McIntyre’s radar.

It emerged on Wednesday, Martin Woods has been training with Dundee and could be the new Dens Park boss’ first signing.

And now there’s speculation defender Paul Quinn could also join up.

Like Woods, Quinn played under Jim up in Dingwall. The 33-year-old moved to Dundee United last year but his appearances were limited by injury and illness.

And he would have to prove his fitness before being given a contract with the Dark Blues.

Meanwhile, the matter of who will be the new assistant boss at Dundee could be resolved soon.

Billy Dodds is the manager’s preferred choice but as is now clear his arrival would be unpopular with many fans.

Others in the frame include Aberdeen coach Barry Robson and possibly even former Dee skipper, and one-time manager, Barry Smith.

Whoever gets the nod should be in place for next week’s clash with Celtic.
