Dundee have been linked with free-scoring Ayr United striker Lawrence Shankland.
But their hopes of getting the 22-year-old could be dashed by the Honest Men’s price tag of £250,000.
The former Aberdeen and St Mirren man has rarely been short on goals since he moved to Somerset Park last September.
Lawrence Shankland is reportedly a target of Dundee.
Last term saw him hit the net 29 times and he’s already hit seven Betfred Cup goals, including two hat-tricks, since this season got underway.
That’s sparked interest from a number of outfits, including the Dark Blues, but while they may be willing to offer a five figure sum to get him, it seems highly unlikely they would meet Ayr’s valuation.
Ironically, Shankland was out of contract at the end of the 2017/18 campaign, but penned a new one-year deal in May.
