Time was running out fast but, as the January transfer window entered its final few hours, Paul Hartley was today still trying to add to his Dundee squad.
It’s been a frustrating month so far for the Dark Blues boss with a number of possible deals falling through.
That hasn’t stopped him continuing his efforts and, throughout today, Paul was still speaking to clubs and agents about making additions.
If any business is going to be completed, however, it’s likely it will have to be rushed through at the last minute.
He has been keen to add another attacking option to the squad but it’s also understood a number of midfielders are on his list of possible signings.
Last night did see movement at Dens but only with players heading out the door, on a temporary basis at least.
As the Tele reported, midfielder Nicky Low had been interesting both Championship outfit Morton and Derry City of the League of Ireland.
When the rest of the Dens squad was given time off during the winter break, the 25-year-old had trained with home town club Morton and that was seen as an indication he could be heading there for the rest of the season.
In the end, though, he’s heading for Derry City. Although based in Northern Ireland, they play in the league set up over the border in the south.
That means Low, whose time at Dundee has been blighted by injury, is joining them during pre-season and can play games right up until June before returning for the build-up to next term.
