Dundee boss Paul Hartley may give his players the chance to make amends when they head for Aberdeen tonight.
He could field the same starting XI who suffered that shock Scottish Cup defeat to St Mirren last weekend for the Pittodrie clash.
With skipper Darren O’Dea suspended and James McPake and ex-Don Nicky Low not yet fit enough for first-team action, Paul will choose from an unchanged squad tonight.
He has considered making changes but letting the players redeem themselves is also on his mind.
“Last week that was the same team I put out as the one who beat St Johnstone in the last game before the break,” he said.
“I didn’t change anything.
“The players just didn’t perform and I’m sure there will be a big reaction from them against Aberdeen. There has to be.
“They know they are better than what they showed, so they have a great opportunity in front of the TV cameras to go and put on a good show.”
Paul will finalise his team in the next 24 hours and, if he does decided on a change, it could come at the back in the shape of defender Kevin Gomis.
The Frenchman was subbed at half-time after a below-par performance in the pre-Christmas win over Hearts at Dens Park.
He hasn’t featured in the three games since but, with O’Dea out, his experience could earn him a recall.
Meanwhile, the hunt for new talent in this transfer window is continuing but no business is likely to be done prior to the game.
“It’s really difficult to get the right type of player. We will try our best right up till the window,” added Hartley.
