I was delighted to see Dundee full-back Cammy Kerr get his pre-season off to a flying start with two goals in the friendly win over Dumbarton the other night.
Kerr is a great kid who works very hard and gives 100% for his favourite team each and every time he runs out on the park.
The 20-year-old local-boy-making-good also has talent.
With Paul McGinn gone south, he has the chance to make the right-back/wing-back slot in Paul Hartley’s starting XI this coming season his own.
That means this is going to be a very big campaign for him.
And one of my first tips for next term is that he will make the most of his opportunity.
Every time I’ve seen him I’ve been impressed.
He may not have the flair of his close mate Craig Wighton but he does his job in a no-nonsense fashion.
And, unlike many in his age group, he seems to have added consistency to his game.
That could keep him in the team.
