A quickfire start saw Dundee into the Scottish Premiership top six, overtaking opponents Ross County with a 5-2 win at Dens Park.
Dundee got themselves off to a flyer as Greg Stewart opened the scoring from the edge of the area in the seventh minute.
Then just two minutes later the lead was doubled as Kevin Holt rose highest to head across the goal and Kane Hemmings swept into the bottom corner.
Stewart was running the game for the Dark Blues but County found their way back into the match after centre-half Andrew Davies was left unmarked to head into the bottom corner.
Then on 38 minutes, Dundee regained their two-goal lead with a bit of luck as Rory Loy deflected a Kane Hemmings shot beyond Gary Woods in the County goal.
The first-half action wasn’t over, though, as right on half-time Alex Schalk broke clear, cut inside his man and found a way past David Mitchell. Mitchell, making his first start for the club got a hand to it but couldn’t keep it out.
The start to the second period was a much quieter affair with not too many chances to shout about. Michael Gardyne blazed over from inside the area at one end and Darren O’Dea flashed a free header over the bar from a corner.
The Dark Blues sealed the win late on as substitute Craig Wighton knocked in No 4 after Stewart’s shot was blocked and then the former-Cowdenbeath playmaker capped a fine performance grabbing his second of the day in stoppage time.
The win sees Dundee leapfrog Ross County and into sixth place.
