Dundee booked a Scottish Cup quarter-final date at Rangers on Saturday week with a one-sided fifth round replay win over Championship Dumbarton.
The first game earlier this month had finished goalless but this time the Dark Blues had their shooting boots on and had this Dens Park tie won by half-time.
The visitors came to park the bus but that plan lasted barely quarter-of-an-hour as Dundee took the lead via a fine angled drive from fullback Paul McGinn.
It had been one-way traffic before that and that’s how it continued as the home side looked for more goals to make things safe.
The second duly came when Kane Hemmings netted from close range for his 19th goal of the campaign.
Early in the second half Greg Stewart added a third goal to make it even easier for Paul Hartley’s team. Late on defender Kevin Holt added number four before Stewart fired home a superb free kick to make it five.
