New Dundee defender Kevin Gomis can be ‘dominating presence’

Simon Ferry believes Kevin Gomis can be the “dominating presence” that the Dundee defence needs.
The former Dark Blues midfielder saw Gomis in action in England, and was impressed by the ex-Nice centre-back Gomis, who joined Paul Hartley’s men at the end of last week on a one-year deal.
Former Portsmouth player Ferry, who first saw the Frenchman when he was on loan at Nottingham Forest in 2014, believes the 27-year-old will fit the bill.
He said: “I think Gomis could be what Dundee need right now, a real dominating presence.
“I saw him play in England and he’s pretty uncompromising, but he’s quick and agile as well for a defender.
“It seems that’s what Dundee have been missing, and when I saw Kevin play he looked the part.
“He brings with him a wealth of experience and, having played in England with Forest, it will stand him in good stead for the physical side of the Scottish game.”
