Dundee boss Paul Hartley has been running the rule over French front man Lynel Kitambala.
The 27-year-old, who can count Auxerre, St Etienne and Levski Sofia among his former clubs, featured as a trialist for the Dark Blues’ Under-20 side on Tuesday night in a 2-2 draw with Aberdeen at Brechin’s Glebe Park.
Kitambala can play either as a centre-forward or in the wide positions with Hartley looking to bolster his striking options following the transfers of Kane Hemmings and Greg Stewart but it remains to be seen whether the Dens manager will pursue his interest.
The same game against Paul Sheerin’s young Dons side also saw Nicky Low make his long-awaited comeback.
The 24-year-old midfielder last played at the start of April and then required surgery on a persistent foot and ankle problem.
He missed the whole of pre-season but has been battling his way back to fitness and played the full 90 minutes on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, reported Dundee transfer target, former Motherwell defender Tom Hateley, is now also understood to be on Partick Thistle’s radar with Hibs also keen to snap up the player.
