Dundee boss Paul Hartley has praised youngster Ian Smith for the impact he has made since joining the club from Hearts last month.
The 18-year-old signed a new one-year contract at Tynecastle last March but was allowed to leave by mutual consent to move to Dens.
The front man has impressed in training and playing for the Under-20s, netting on his debut against Dundee United last week, and he was rewarded with a place on the bench for the first team on Saturday against Kilmarnock.
Hartley said: “He only came in a couple of weeks ago but he’s looked very sharp.
“We will have a look at him in training but he’s looked the part so far.
“He’s young, he’s bright, he’s positive and he takes people on. He could be one for the future but we will work away with him.”
